Trey serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Morgan Companies, where he sets the firm’s overall strategy, leads the executive team, and oversees its investment portfolio. Under his leadership, the company has expanded across the Southeast, as well as into Texas, Arizona, and Ohio. Trey has guided the acquisition and development of more than $1 billion in commercial real estate, spanning single-tenant retail, medical office projects, regional shopping centers, and large-scale office developments. He also leads Sentinel Grove, the firm’s private equity and investment platform that he co-founded.
Prior to joining The Morgan Companies, Trey worked at Jones Lang LaSalle in Washington, D.C. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Northwestern University and holds an MBA from Duke University. Trey is a longtime member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and has served in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as Chair of the Southern Division’s Governmental Relations Committee. He holds real estate licenses in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
Beyond his professional work, Trey is active in the community, serving as a board member and past president of the Steve Smith Family Foundation and as an appointed member of the North Carolina Economic Development Accountability & Standards Committee. He and his wife, Kimberly, have three children.
